For those of you who remember the Woodsman from last year you are in for a treat this fall. The second batch brewed on the new system in May was Hoppy Holidays bound for the wood. Total yield… Three full Heaven Hills Bourbon barrels! Last year we had just one. So that is the good news, we’re going to have a whole lot more Woodsman coming your way. Blending with this year’s Hoppy Holidays will take place in about a month.
Now for the REALLY good news. I brewed Hoppy again today and guess what? It’s also bound for the wood! We were lucky enough to come across four more Bourbon barrels and we’re going to fill’em up. I’m hoping that four months on wood will get the job done but we’ll see when January first rolls around. If it’s not ready we’ll just let it sit. Either way, we are going to have a lot of Woodsman. Look forward to a November first release of Hoppy Holidays on draft and Hoppy the Woodsman on draft and 22oz bottles. YEAH!
